t45 transmission fluid

Well guys I'm gonna be changing my tranny fluid since its been rather notchy lately. I was wondering what you guys would recommend, I was thinking to use royal purple, penzoil synchromesh, or Mobil 1 atf.

I use Motorcraft fluid.

Ford engineers know more than I do.

Been tracking my car for 4+ years, and no issues.

Runs like a champ.

Does only Ford carry motorcraft mercon v, and does the tranny take 3.25q?

Forget mobil. Amsoil synchromesh and put in 3.5 liters if I remember correctly. When I first bought mine it was a bit notchy. Amsoil corrected that. Royal purple is good too. I wont support mobil. They pulled a fast one on the consumer. I would call it fraud personally so they make none of my money.

It seems like everyone has a different preference, I have no clue what to choose. Might just go with motorcraft mercon v.

Is there a difference between the normal motorcraft mercon v and the synthetic blend motorcraft mercon v. Because I just bought the normal kind and want to make sure I didn't get the wrong one

I use what my builder recommends.

Most people who are knowledgeable with the T45 recommend the same.

Mercon V

I have spoken with Tremec, and they advised me not to run any of the Synchromesh products (GM / Pennzoil / Etc) in my T45's.

I used Pennzoil Synchro for years (1999 - 2005) in my T45's and never had an issue, but it did seem that they became "notchier" sooner with the Synchro than the regular ATF.

I have made 3,000+ track passes with T45's.

I didn't even remove the fill plug. I made sure I put exactly 3.25q in
