look like optional is havin similar problems that i originally had when i did my pi intake swap... that sucks, hope it all works out for him. not a fan of the cougers, but very unique, not to many ppl think of modding one out. i'm interested to see what kinda numbers he puts down. what mods do you have exactly speed? and do you know what numbers you're making?

well car made terrible numbers last time it was out...due to the fact the timing was so retarded to get my cams to clear the pistons i made less power than i would have with pi cams...

i have npi shortblock, ported pi heads, mhs .600" lift springs, comp cams xe270ah's, ported vic jr intake, 6061 plenum, 75mm tb, 90mm maf, 30lb injectors, jlt cai, bbk lt's (at the time had) o/r x, lm1's...made something like 298rwhp/318rwtq...

i made more power with my old setup of just pi intake, pi cams, o/r x and lm1's and a 75 shot..made 226rwhp/276rwtq off n20 and 306rwhp/347rwtq...

my biggest thing is getting my cams degree'd in to a safe position while retaining some power..i hope to pick up a few more hp but should pull my tq back up again..this engine has always made great torque and didnt that way...im hoping to pull 425/450 with a 100 shot next season...then pull it all back apart to put the new motor in lol

I cant beleive u drove a 4 hour trip after letting the RTV only sit for what 3-4 hours? Thats amazing good ol RTV lol. And delga u can do the heads bro all u gotta do is google or get a ford manual the size of a dictionary and read your butt off everynight and what you cant find reading just ask on here. Im like optionalstang 2 years ago i didnt know crap about cars, now my car is in peices and im hoisting my engine up to put on a new oil pan and motor mounts and at the same time putting my PI intake manifold on. Hell if i had more money id be doing longtubes and the rest of the PI swap at the same time but im saving that for another day when the money is available. Just work your way into heavy mods by doing small mods around it and by then you know what every single peice of metal on your car is and how it works.

get down and get dirty. i only learn hands on..books dont do me well..sometimes i just have to stare at what im doing on the c ar for like 5min untill i figure out the best and propper way to get it done..lol,sometimes it takes me 10mins to get 1 bolt out..but after that i know how and know the trick..hense the reason i could do an entire pi swap in under 4 hours.start to finish..

well, to 88 and optional, i do work on my own car, i've done little things like new water pump, manifold, motor for cooling fan. so i have an idea of how things work and am not bad with a wrench, its just to time consuming as well as if i screw it up, its on me. if a shop screws up, its on them. also, my stang is a DD so i can't have her out for to long.

and Teufel Hunden, sounds like was have lots in common.lol. RAH.

ya mines a DD also and thats my problems because i dont like to have my car down for more than 2 days...i culd always use the wifes blazer or my emergency truck but anything else besides a 4.6, just doesnt seem rite..i didnt even like driving my dads mercedes and i test drove an 86" vette and to be honest, it didnt feel faster than my car by any means..i didnt give it off the line but i got on it pretty heavy as i was rolling..i think i could take an older vette solong as its not off the line..
