upgrading rear end

What kinda power range do you need to start worrying about upgrading from stock axles? And what else would need to be changed to handle the power when you had to change the axles?

If you are running street tires you don't have to worry about it unless you are adding a big power adder. What kind of car do you have? A little more info about your plans for the car would be helpful as well.

Well if you are stock, I wouldn't worry about it right now. However, if you decide to put gears in it and have the money, you may as well upgrade to 31 spline axles and diff since they have to come out to do gear install. The installer will not generally charge you any extra or very little for installing those along with the gears.

I got different quotes around town and the most was 600 bucks for just install. But here in town I have also found them at a mustang shop for 250 bucks labor. All you need to do is call around to your shops and then take it to the one you feel most confertable.
