Is this a scam?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=195

1997 Cobra from autotrader.com. I emailed the guy and he emailed me back saying he has been deployed to Iraq and cant sell the car in person. I was sent an email from supposedly autotrader offering me a total of $5300 for the car. $2000 down and they will ship me the car. I then have 5 days to drive it and make sure it is as advertised. Then i can either pay the remaining $3300 and autotrader will send me the title and him the money or if i dont want the car autotrader says they will refund me the $2000 down payment. I didnt think autotrader interfered with a buyer/seller deal so thats my question. Is it a scam???

I don't believe that auto trader acts as a third party.. without compension at least.

but your only way to truly find out would be to contact auto trader itself.

I did contact autotrader.com I called them just a little bit ago and they told me the address I recieved the email from didnt belong to autotrader. They removed the car from their site and reported it as fraud so i guess i wont be getting a cobra after all.
