Cam advancing.

Is their a write up on this somewhere around here for our motors . Im trying to learn how this works . cause i want to use adjustable crank gears and i saw that they advanced the drives side by 8 degrees and retard the passenger by 4 ... wtf .. i don't get it honestly . Just wondering if there is somewhere that explains all this. Thanks a million

You can use the TFS crank gears to advance or retard the cams. They have 9 keyways and with 2 deg increments (0, 2, 4,6,8 deg). Each side is advanced/retarded individually and both sides have the same amount of adjustment.

Bumping my old topic. Few more questions on it. Is it on average that on these vehicles that the Passenger side stock gears are advanced some and that the drivers side is retarded by a little ? I have read this several times and figured i would ask some verification.

No, and you won't know where they are unless you put a degree wheel on the engine

Haha yeah thanks . I was talking in reference to my current 2v motor . I did get most everything figured out at this point. i have a feeling that my passenger side may be too much advanced. I was planning on retarding both cam banks 2 degrees. Seems my upper end is just not there but the lower end is neck snapping.

I thought it was a question for a 2 Valve seeing as there is a tech section just for 4 valves.
