Urethane motor mounts

Hey peeps, I just swapped my stock motor mounts for a set of urethane ones from AM. I have a QA1 tubular K-member and from what I hear, people say you are supposed to grind the nipple thing off. Now, this job was a PITA !!!! And I do not want to do it over. I didn't grind the nipples off and it seemed to fit perfect. Do you guys think I'll be fine??? Do I have to grind these off??? And btw, I think I have a QA1 tubular k-member, it's what came with the car when I bought it used. It looks just like it. And the oil pan is def aftermarket but no brand logo on it either. Just square like and my car takes 7.5 qts of oil. Whats up with the k member and nipples on motor mounts?? Those things are tiny, how could it make a difference?? Thanks for any feedback.

I did the little round bump or nipple on the face that sits on the k member. You won't be able to get the stud from the mount to fully pull through the k member, which means one day you could technically hit a bump and it may slide all of a centimeter or two. Lol but also could happen every bump..

Well I pulled the mount back off and ground the "nipple" off with my rotary tool set. Took forever though!!!! That steel is strong!!!

Hey maybe you could answer a question for me. I just ordered the Walbro GSS342 with the install kit(which I need, right?) I know there's conflicting info on this pump and what cars it works in, but I'm gonna just pop it in. Could you give some some pointers on what swapping A fuel pump entails?? Maybe a few steps I need to do? Thanks a lot man!!

Do you have to grind this "nipple" off if you still have the stock suspension? I have some urethane motor mounts on the way so i was curious if i needed to do with with my stock suspension. Thanks.

From what I understand, you only need to do the grinding with a tubular k. I might be wrong though. The mounts are made with the nipples for a stock k-member. And btw, when I took my old ones out, they looked horrible!!! The new urethane ones are great and really no fitment issues if you can get in there. I've never dealt with a stock k, so I wouldn't know. I bought my car with this k on it already, and only realized it wasn't stock when I did my motor mount install!!! lol

yes. Urethane mounts on the stock k is fine. I put some on from AM with my stock K. The stock K members have a little guide hole where that nipple fits. and never had a tubular k so dont know.

I don't know if it was easier or not, but I just drilled a hole in my tubular k for the engine mount nipple instead of grinding it down...

Not a bad idea. I'm sure the nipple has a purpose! lol

Damn you! lol na if u didnt buy em im sure someone else would have gotten them before me. I started with A.M but after 2 weeks they told me they werent gonna have any untill the 2nd week of november. So i canceled that and ordered from UPR since they had the 2nd best price i could find and now after waiting 2 more weeks and emailing back and fourth UPR said they are gonna have them the middle of this week and ship them out to me the same day, so i should hopefully have them by the middle of next week. I just hope the ground isnt covered in snow by the time my project is complete cuz then i wont be able to see what all my upgrades have changed since my tires are as bald as an 80 yr old man lol

Edit: oh ya and UPR ended up being cheaper then A.M since they were nice enough to waive the 9.99$ shipping fee for me, which is nice but i would have rather just paid the 10 bucks and have the motor mounts in my hands already. I guess everyone is getting some urethane motor mounts this time of year lol.

I put a set of urethanes in a few weeks ago.

They're pretty nice. Gives you a little vibration...enough to make the chick next to you feel like shes in a muscle car but not enough were your coffee splashes around

Add that with the off road exhaust growling and youve got a golden ticket to
