my boring little build...

idk i guess ill do a little build..was feeling a tad inspired by all the others on here..mine seams so miniscule in comparison

lol heres the long story...not so short..well start from the beginning..when me and ol blue first met...this is the photo i saw on autotrader...and had to check it out..a COMPLETELY stock 96 GT minus cobra r's, cobra headlights and hotchkiss caster camber plates...with 86k original miles and only $3800..(mind you this was 3 years ago, probably not as good a steal now)

so we dragged her back home...and cleaned her up and...pics of course lol

and after a few test runs...to christen this baby into the family...and make the dealer own me two new rear tires lol

but it didnt take long for me to start tearing into her...specifically by that weekend it had a pi intake swap and full exhaust lol

soon after ditched the gunmetal cobra r's for some silver ones, tint the tails..and lowered it a little

then after getting a little more bored with it i decided to ditch the silver cobra r's for some black ones...muchhhh better

so yeah of course that didnt last long either....lol

BUTTT then February 4th, 2010 at approximately 4:15pm while exiting a one way road...a chevy 5500 box truck attemped to enter this said 1 way road, realized too late and tried to cut back out into the main road...id say it was a tad late...for this reason.....

SOOOOO i decided to keep the car..and well redo it..at first it was hey cody lets just slap a new bumper on it..fix what we gotta..and just beat it into the ground...sorry friends..ol blue and me have a connection i couldnt do that to her...so needless to say i get her back from the tow company...to a few extra suprises....

AND SCRATCHES EVERYWHERE...so since i have my truck..and dont daily it at this point..time for some tear down...

AND then a nice big delivery from LRS (50Resto) H.O Fibertrends 3.5 cowl hood, Kaenan S281 spoiler, Redline hood struts, Ford Racing Hood Pins, new radiator core support, crush bumper, new fenders.. the works

so now that, thats done lets get some color over that ugly primer...

this is wet..holds that shine for over an hour lol....

okay now you ask...wheres the good stuff..well after bringing it into the garage putting it on jackstands....JUST TO REPLACE balljoints, tie rod inners and outters, sway bar end links and some upper rear axle bushings...

actually sorry it stayed in driveway for a week cuz this took up the garage and couldnt put it inside the garage until this stuff was gone..

so we did exactly that..we installed it lol

pile of crap

lets tackle the rear end

Awsome project man! lotta cool pics too. If i ever crash my baby i think il be in the same boat with you and just go crazy with everything. Also how many rattle cans have u gone through so far lol. And what did you take to your heads? Im in the process of cleaning mine now but they are still on the engine so im limited to alot of rag wiping with my fingers as far as i can reach em in there trying not to get any loose oil gunk on my piston down there.

You change rims as often as i wash my car. Which is very often, "want to wash the car?" "yeah sure, the rims look dirty so lets just buy a new set"

But wicked build man, love the car. Have to say the fr's are my favorite.

Haha thanks man it means alot. Any inspiring I can do does mean alot, I can try to rid the world of half ass and shady work one person at a time my life can mean something lol. This is why I always preach, if it ain't broken you don't need it so save up and buy the better parts and do it right the first time, never buy things twice. But you'll get there with yours I'm sure. Just stick with it, ask my girlfriend it's usually a once a week occurrence to hear me say fuck this car I'm selling it, I know I could afford a termi or new 5.0...I just feel like I'll get more out of finishing this car. Plus sn95>all lol

Hahaha omg that quote so works for me. That's exatly how I ended up with the black cobra r's. Me and a friend were at he car wash one night with our cars I was complaining I wanted new wheels. And he was like I've always wanted silver cobra r's. I was like there yours lol order the black ones that night. What makes it worse is AM added to the issue cuz now I can add hypercoated saleens and whatever my new ones will be to the list. 3 expensive ass wheels on the car in less than 2 weeks...that's a record. Even for me haha

But thanks for the compliments bro. Means alot...I've put a lot of time and money into this car. Done everything myself, legit minus the extra hand by a friend or g/f with heavy lifting. But everything from body work, to mounting dash, to installing gears, to rebuilding transmission to porting my heads..and soon I'll be tuning it myself with the sniper setup. I don't build it for anyone but me, but to hear good feedback is always cool. I mean that is why we all do this right?
