they are both great tuners.

I suggest you find a shop around you first and see what software they use first.

I like the SCT Xcal2 better.

But it also depends upon what your tuner is used to using.

it depends on your mods.

I have the Diablo and love it. It also helps that Diablo Sport is about 30 mins away from my house. But none the less. It's a great tuner and have awesome customer support.

I wouldn't write a tune yourself if you don't know what your doing.

you can data log, then send it to a good tuner so he/she could write a tune for you and send it back to you over e-mail.

You will neither lose nor gain any power by deleting the EGR.

Th EGR function is turned off by the PCM at WOT anyway. By deleting the EGR all you are doing is making more room under the hood.

and the a/f should be at closer to 13.3 at WOT on a good tune man.

I bought a Diablo tuner to take care of little things like turning of my O2 sensors and finding out what's up with my car when the check engine light lights up. And also, cuz a custom tune costs so much for a simple tune,(like HUMSN said around 200) I decided to get my own tuner. The cool thing was that the site I bought mine from gives a free custom tune to you for purchasing it from them, so I sort of got the best of both worlds.

no.. that's not true.

he is talking about a dyno tune.
that is different than a xcal canned tune or a xcal tune based off of datalogs.

the dyno tune is 200.

you know my prices for the tune based off your datalogs. already

With a hadheld you can only access so much stuff. With a dyno tune, it's a dyno AND tune. Plus with the "end user" software they can adjust stuff and run it one the dyno and play with it to get you optimal HP. Also, handhelds are good thing to have for codes, turning sensors on/off, and little stuff like that.

With the EGR delete. And as HMUSN said...You won't gain or lose power. But it does keep carbon build up and exhaust fumes out of your intake side. It also neatens up your engine bay. EGR does exactly what it stands for...Exhaust Gas Recirculator. It's an emissions thing. I took mine off and it runs fine. Just don't forget to turn the sensors off (easy to do with a hand held tuner).
