Do you own a 96 cobra?

Do you love your 90's cobra? If so let me know why its a good purchase. If you hate it sound off too.
Im in the process of trying to purchase a stang but ppl keep telling me I should wait and buy a 2005 or newer. So...I want to hear your opinion! What do you think?

4v>3v>2> But it all depends on preference. 05s are nice but sorta heavy, 96-04 are lighter but less powered, look better if you ask me. But id get a cobra over a 3v 05+ anyday

I had a '98 and liked it; it suffers from the same issues that all fox-chassis Mustangs do, but the 4v is a fun motor.

Really depends on what you're gonna do with the car, though. An S197 ('05+) is gonna be a better DD, handle better, and not give up much/any in terms of power (none once you start digging into the aftermarket).

My cousin has a 96 cobra. The only problem she has ever had out of it is the common problem of it running hot. This was a problem for all 96 mustang v8's. She replaced the radiator with a fluidyne and has not had the problem since. She bought the car new and it has 185,ooo miles on it and is still running strong.

The one I was thinking about buying is a 96' cobra 4 valve DOHC motor 5 speed trans. White on black leather. Power everything. Mach 460 sound. But radio speakers have static. New windshield. 94k miles. Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Off road h pipe. Recent tune up including: Air and fuel fuel filters; MAF sensor; Injectors; plugs; wires; coils. New 17 inch FR500 chrome wheels with new rubber. 315 rear and 255 front. Also has new drilled and slotted rotors and pads. The car has a newer t5 trans and clutch. 4:10 rear end with 31 spline axles for $5400 obo...
Not sure if it has overheated on 'em, Outside of it looks good...inside...decent although the seats a bit worn around the edges and carpet needs replacing or cleaning.
The only thing...cobras run high! really high!
Found one online @ dealership with 83,541 miles on it...same year for $7595 seems a little expensive for a 96.

I would be all over that one for 5400, they gor for 8-12 on average around here. I like driving my '96 GT over my dads '08 GT. I like the no traction control, no abs, so nothing. Crank windows and manual seats hahhaa. I dont see many sn95 GT's pr cobras around here. There is one more GT and one cobra, but the s197's are everywhere. Mainly the 6's.

The point of this is, i prefer the sn95 over the s197. I've driving both, a lot. The '96 is my DD till winter.

Yeah thats what I was thinking about the 5400 one. Im really interested but I was wondering by it being such an old car is it worth the buy in the long run, expecially for an investment.

Personally yes. That car is at its ultimate low for price right now. I don't expect to see an average price drop, but within time an increase.
