Stuck key, Need help

So i just replaced my heater core and i put everything back toghether; drove it to make sure everything was fine. after parking and turning the car off i tried to pull the key out and it didnt come out. the ignition does not want to turn all the way to take the key out. so i looked under the dash and messed with the black cylinder to see if the key would come out. no luck the key is still stuck. i saw 2 connections that weere loose so i pluged them back in, but i think i pluged it the wrong way now gauges dont work at all what happened, what can i do to fix this problem. can someone help me. i think those connection are part of the pats system. also i have a aftermarket alarm. would the people that did the alarm tooken off these wires and me being an idiot plugged it back in.

well if its an auto make sure its in park and check the sensor for that it might have went out. make sure your steering wheel isnt locked. its sounds more like a mechanical failure than a electronic one but you never can tell. thats the only thing i can think of. make sure you disconnect the battery so it doesnt run down being that its stuck in the on position.

This happened to me with a celica a while back. Remove the center piece around your automatic shifter and look for a connection by it. Once you've found a connection around the shifter, disconnect and connect it back and try your key. Like i said it was on a different car so the connection might be in a different area but same thing. Good luck.
