My Mustang Shouldnt be as fast as it is..

So i recently picked up a 1996 mustang gt for myself. It was in great shape higher Miles but whatever. And my friend also bought a DSM eagle talon.. We have started modding it so its at about 350hp on the motor. Like i dont know how to explain this but i still pull on him a bit in my bone stock 2v mustang. Like it has 2:73 gears in it and apparently 215hp.... Like a stock talon TSI AWD should be alot quicker but his modded one cant pull away from me... Is it possible i have a different motor? What would be a good way to check what motor i have.
0-60 in a stock TSI AWD is about 6.2 my mustang is suppose to be 6.6 but there is noooo wayy it is. I should probably take it to a track.... The talon is running 14.6psi

It hasnt been tuned but ill just say its pretty fast and he pulls like 1st second and 3rd while i do 1 to 2nd...
Its running a really smooth 14.6 psi 550cc injectors with a 255fuel pump. And i forget what its called but it has the fuel pressure regulator with the vacuum line.
Stock it runs 7psi at 210 hp. And hes not a bad driver at all.

Smith - does your Mustang feel like a stock 2v should? I mean, have you ridden in other similar Mustangs, or have much experience there to judge that? Do you happen to have taken it to the strip and have the numbers?

Without more info it's hard to say if maybe you have mods you're not aware of or if your friend's setup is bunk or if he's a crappy driver or what.

And what gen Talon is that? My buddy had a TSi, and it ran 14 psi stock.

It looks normal to me.. I have never seen a 96 2v mustang thats capable of leaving alot of rubber from a roll at 10mph.. Excuse my crappy job of the BBK intake im new to this haha. I have no idea why one of my distributors in mounted lower than the other. Other than that it looks pretty stock.
I have been in many fox body mustangs and this feels just as fast as those if not quicker.
Also its a 95 talon stock they had 12 psi.

Nothing's jumping out at me besides the CAI...

What're your rpms in high gear (I didn't see if you were 5-speed or auto) at 60mph? Gears would definitely make a huge difference on how your car moves out.

Hrmm.. well, if you're running a standard size tire (e.g. 245/45s), 2.73s should have you right at 1500rpm at 60. 3.08s were an option, though, and those would have you just a tick shy of 1700, and 3.27s would have you a tick under 1800.

I looked under the car and got someone to spin the tire. One tire rotation is about 2 and a quarter driveshaft turns (im not going to catch .02 of a rotation with just my eyes...)

Yeah, I don't trust counting driveshaft rotations. Might work great for other people, but it's always off when I do it. That's why I go by rpm at speed.

Yeah, I just break open the rear end and check the gear itself. Most used cars are way overdue for a differential service when you buy them. That is the one absolute way to tell what you have.

That they wouldn't be able to sell Mustangs if they couldn't meet CAFE standards, so they needed to get the fuel economy numbers up.

First thing someone does with a mustang before moving to the engine is swap gears. So if you have stock gears, my guess is the engine is stock as well.

What turbo is the talon running? If it' the stock t-25, then theres your answer. Tell him to swap on a 6262 and he will hang with 03/04 cobras.

Does that Talon have a stock turbo?

I'm a former dsm'r myself (1994 TSI AWD). 14PSI on a stock turbo is nothing!, I was running 17 or 19psi on a stock fuel system. And ran 14.6 in the quarter. Tell him to crank da wick!

When I had my talon I was pretty close but still couldnt beat the 2v 4.6.... Loved AWD though
