T-45 sucks!!

alright, i was racing my freinds prelude last night when 3 rd gear grinded for about the 3rd time that night alone, i know this is a common problem. my car has about 80,000 miles on it, im thinking about replacing the clutch and getting a new shifter, my question is, is there anything i can do for this trans, like a flush or something, and will a short throw shifter help?, i know syncros are another option but that is rather pricey

did u just completely miss 3rd or what? if so i would reccommend the mgw, my t45 did the same thing until i put a new clutch in it, no more grinding 3rd EVER, but then again after the new clutch i do drive it alot easier trying to not blow it...

I'li see if I can find the link, there is a company that rebuilds T-45's to handle 750 rwhp. If you plan to run a standard trans the T-45 actually has one of the least drivetrain losses af all the ford or aftermarket transmissions and I have heard a few people say with is positive stop short throw shifter the t-45 will handle handle stock what the t-3650 will.
If I decide to run a stick on this build it will be a built proshifted T-45. the biggest problem with the t-45 is people tend to bend the shift forks and break input shafts.

Man it was so simple! You undo the bolts from the old shifter, scrape off the old silicon, install the shifter, and then set the stops just as the instructions say! It took me all of maybe 30 minutes! And the hardest part was finding a socket that would fit! lol
