New Build

Ok new thread since the last on got f'd up. Ok i currently have a 98 gt with a p.i top end swap. The heads were rebuild. My cylinder walls were in great shape and had very nice cross hatches. The car has 67k miles on it. 2k on the p.i swap. Im looking for some more power without forking over 10k. Looking to spend under 3k. I already have full bolt ons and some suspension work so ready to step it up a notch. I was thinking about building up a 4v block with forged internals that way eventually i can chenge heads to some aftermarkets and run f.i. Currently i am open to all suggestions. I would also consider running some boost on my current setup. I would like to do something custom but yet i want to stay a 2v. Is the block a waste of time? Should i just boost my current setup? Please gtfo if you dont know what your talking about. Thanks.

I don't see why not boost. But I like the forging idea.

Forge the bottom end and spray. That should be less then 2 grand if you you do the work yourself or with some buddies and youll make mid 300s.

What would you like your end results to be power wise? Are you going to DD this car or just a weekend warrior?

To be honest. If you only have 67k miles on your engine and 3k to spend id say either build the bottom end and then resave again till you can get a s/c then youll be set.

That's what I would do but you should buy a bare block and sell your low mile short block

go with cast iron. they are generally a good block. build the bottom end with forged crank and manley h-beams and forged pistons from mahle or just get some pistons from a SCed cobra. save your money back up and get a kennebelle, cant beat those for bolt on power and looks and sound. stage 2 cams and a good tune and your looking at around 500hp to the wheels. thats a guestimate, dont bash me for it lol. oh yeah, msd ignition parts are a plus too.

I saw a fully forged stroker kit in the classifieds with 2 k miles on it for $600. That is a hell of a deal. You get both a fully forged shortblock as well as a stroker setup for really cheap.
