Real bad miss miss miss miss etc

98 GT Auto. Under heavy acceleration it constantly and quickly misses like crazy. Under normal driving conditions or WOT its just fine. Maybe a little miss at WOT, but real real real bad under other heavy throttle. Perfect at normail driving. Normal driving i keep rpms under 2200, most time at or under 2000. Plugs are motorcraft coppers with maybe 3k on them. I think engine is stock except PO put on a WAI with cone filter under hood, not infender. I have a perm installed fuel pressure guage. Car starts perfect, idles perfect, cruises perfect, gets 22mpg plus with 75%HWY. Could the intake cause this?
No vac leaks either, no codes. Has motorcraft wires. They "look"good, no sparks from them in the dark. Dont know age or maybe originals,CAr has 132k on it.
Suggestion?

Actually did that yesterday when i pulled plugs to check what they looked like, since they only have a couple thousand on them. The last 4 wks car has been DD with about 60miles a day with 40 or so being all hwy cruise at 60-65.

Coil pack might be heating up to much at WOT? Just an idea.

If you can get the codes read by a scan tool that can check pending codes that might give you an idea what cylinder or cylinders are involved. Pending codes will show up without turning on the cel.

Mine did that and didn't throw any codes it turned out to be plug wires. I just replaced stock ignition with ngk coils and wires and it went away.

There are no codes or pending codes stored. Think ill change the wires. Has motorcraft on it, but no idea how old they are. They look good and clean. But no idea on age. Maybe just wore out? Looks like one of the coil packs is a parts store. One has motorcraft on it, one doesn't.

It's more then likely the wires. Mine was doing it when I went over half throttle or on a fast take off. I changed plugs and still did it so just ordered wires and coil packs and it stopped

Going to pick up a set of good wires. What do you guys recommend. Anythuing better than the motorcraft? Saw some like 8.8MM wires on ebay. Suggestions?
Probably be a little bit before i do it. We are getting snow now. Besides not having a garage to do it in, its no longer DD till spring.
