Fluid on my tranny...??? not good... '96 Cobra

I was under my car last night fixing an exhaust leak when i notice fulid on the bottom of my tranny. It appears to kinda red in color. And seems to be coming from around the middle of my trans. How can i check my fluid level in the trans? Or do i just have to drain it and refill it?

Another thing. My car seems to use oil. Don't know where it goin??? the car doesn't smoke. Could my rear seal be leaking? Would this be the fluid on my trans?

The red fluid is tranny fluid. You may be leaking it from around the shifter or input shaft.

Engine oil, need more info. You say it is not smoking but is there a spot on the floor after you park it? Could be blow by if it is a high mileage vehicle. How much oil is it using per 1000 miles?

i have a 98 cobra with 70,000 miles on it and i also us oil without the car smoking. I have never seen an oil spot on the ground from my car, and the oil usage isn't too bad, so i just don't mind it

I just put a new thread up about my car smoking white and slight oil consumption. I've had mine for about 1,500 and used some too. Are you guys going WOT a lot or is that quart your running through daily driving like a civil human?
