My hybrid project

So for this christmas my dad is giving me a engine to put in my mustang. its not just any engine. its his 454 chevy big block from his 70 chevelle ss. already starting to buy parts to make it work. everyone wish me luck and post if you think this is bad ass. to fuse chevy and ford together to make one bad ass road king of a car.

I think it's badass, but I'm biased. What k-member you gonna run? Give a run down of your setup.

That's gonna be very heavy. You are going to need to upgrade the front suspension as well.

I'd say find yourself a Chevelle roller to put that baby in. Just my opinion.

the k-member is from jegs its a 94-98 mustang k-member for sb-bb chevy motors cost 300 for k-member and motor mounts its going to take some work though the heads need to be reworked and i need some parts(carborator and others) but i have the engine and trasmission its a 4 speed auto but i will get a ratchet shifter to go with it so at least i can have some feel of a manual. i will post a pic of the engine when i get it at my house next weekend it should be here.

Yup.... first thing occured to me was heavy!

I would certainly go CO's, so you have some adjustabilty and better control over the added weight. Figure out the difference between the existing motor and the new one, to do the math on CO's.

You are gonna want some improved brakes for sure. What are you going to do with this car? Just a cool project or looking to do 1/4 mile runs?

I always wanted to build an old chevy truck and put a Ford drivetrain in it. I guess you are kinda doing the opposite. Sounds cool though but you know some people will just get pissy about it.
