I've had 6000K and 8000K both with projector headlights. I've also seen 6000K and 8000K on regular headlights and for me, 6000K is the way to go. It offers the most visibility and the color in my opinion is perfect white.

go with 6,000k. 8000 starts getting too blue. there are many places to get hid's but dont go with the cheapest ebay set. theres only a few sellers on ebay who have some nice sets and then theres other places like vvme and ddm tuning. pretty much like always you get what you pay for. but dont go more than 6000k

I would recommend you install a new projector headlight first... so you don't blind oncoming traffic
![]() The problem with HID's in an OEM headlight is the complete lack of a focused beam. The projector allows you to "aim" the light properly and will give much better results. With this said, I have a projector with 8K bulbs and just installed a set in my wifes car with 6K bulbs. Hers are brigher, as the higher the "K" the lower the lumins. Jazzer

My HID's, once properly aim'ed, in the stock housing work great! i haven't gotten flashed once since i got them perfect!
I have 55w 5k's and 55w 3k's. the light output is a million times better! and my fogs actually serve a purpose now! |

![]() I constantly see the converted OEM ones and been blinded many times In fact, I was blinded by a pair on an S197 while test driving the lights I put in my wifes car!I too am curious about the 55 watt ones you have. Mine are 35 and are great, but was considering the swap to those and stick with 6K this time. Jazzer = Vince's apprentice

i say just get 55w 6k's for headlights and fogs...and just leave em in crystal clear houses and aim them high and just park infront of jazzers house all night along
![]() just ddm tuning sells awesome kits..i have there slim balast setup with 55w 6k headslight (closest to white and anything 5000-6000 is the brightest you can get) and 35w 6k fogs...the 55w run a tad hot for how small the foglight housing is and have seen plenty of kits melt the foglights...so i wouldnt run 55w fogs just me...some people get away with it, most dont...why chance it for not that huge a difference..headlights are big enough 55w's are mint in there... and sorry jazzzzahhh <333 i had too

I have mine from DDM, and 55w both top and bottom, with shipping cost me 110. :] thats with brackets.
My fogs don't get that hott at all though, to be completely honest. They run the same temp that my heads do, and imo, i saw a huge difference in changing fogs from 35w to 55w. With my 5k setup, there is zero blue whatsoever. PURE white, and with the 3k fogs it's straight yellow. |

Sounds good
![]() I know that the 55W lights run hotter than the 35W ones, so any issues with them in projector lights you have seen? I would like to go brighter, but would not be happy if I was to melt my existing projectors ![]() Jazzer.... no longer Vince's lil' bitch

Dont get ebay see what your local shops have to offer alot of them have good deals on decent sets with warrantys. Also make sure she has the amperage to support the hids they can take quite a bit of amps to run at times.

I don't have HID's yet but I would go with 6k.
6k lumins is roughly the intensity of the sunlight so at night that will obviously give you the most natural bright light. anything brighter will start to make color and not actually make the light brighter. i.e. 8k blue 10k purple. |
