If it's a single cylinder misfire, then it's likely either a plug, plug wire, fuel injector, or possibly a coil pack (though that would effect two cylinders). You can try swapping one part at a time with another cylinder to see if the misfire moves with said part to narrow things down.

You said that the code was for a misfire in one of the cylinders...which cylinder was it for?

I had this issue once before. It turned out that coolant was leaking into the no.8 sparkplug hole. The intake is bad to leak in that area and one of the heater hoses from the firewall could easily be leaking in that area. Good luck.

Go buy a spark tester, they are about $10 from any parts store. Pull one spark plug wire off of the plug, the tester takes place of the spark plug but does not go in the engine. U will need to ground the other side of the tester, best place is battery negative. Start the engine and see if it is sparking. Do this to all 8 spark plug wires, if you have spark on all 8 wires pull your plugs and look at them. If one or more of the plug wires do not spark then remove the plug wire and set up your spark checker on the coil pack where that wire was. If still no spark replace the coil pack (your ignition control module is in your PCM) the control module on our cars is rarely ever a problem. If you have spark on all wires check your fuel injectors. You can do this several ways, you can buy a noid light set or you can ghetto rig pretty much the same setup. Take a thin paper clip and insert it into the ground side of the fuel injector connection. Then start your car and put a test light on the paper clip, it should flash very fast. You could also remove all the connections on all the injectors and check them for resistance, anything above 14 ohms or so and you might have a bad injector.
