Intake Valve Modification

Im about to do a pi swap and want to run a stage 2 cam or equivilant. I currently have my heads at the machine shop and was wanting to know how the intake valve are modified for more ptv clearance. Will this be enough clearance or do I need to notch my pistons also. I want to get full potential out of what ever cam I choose.

The way they typically provide clearance is by retarding your cam several degrees. However this means you don't get the full potential of your new cam you just shelled out for.

To get all the performance you can out of those new bumpsticks of yours, you'd have to get your pistons notched to accommodate the increased lift/duration.

I just got an email from Nick at mhs, he says that since my heads were disassembled and at the machine shop I could have them take .030" off the face of my intake valves and I will have clearance.
