best gain power gain for 97 v6 standard.. without dropping a ton
buddies got a 97 v6 standard mustang
what can we do, to get more power out of it? without dropping a shit load of money into it ether.. i was personally just thinking maybe gears, and a tuner? anything else? no nos, or complete rebuild or anything like that.. were just a couple of kids that want to get the most out of what we got lol is it worth it..in a v6?

All I did was a cai and had a local mom & pop exhaust shop install some divorced duals eliminating the h pipe. (ya ya back pressure blah blah, it runs better and my pony likes the extra breathing room.). Improving air in and air out will almost always improve response. However you hear others stating that a set of gears and a t-lock on the transmission will make it feel more peppy as well. Also if it a manual you too can swap your shifter to a tri ax or steeda or something to that degree. But other than that nope, but then again I think that's the same boat for v8 guys as well, until you start swapping engine components or slapping boost on somehow.
And to me, the total 500 it may have been was worth it. Just a little to make the old thing feel more lively again.

What do you consider a shit load?
I helped my friend turbo his 03 v6 and it now runs 13.50's He paid around $1500 for a used kit. Saving up for a couple months and buying something that actually makes a big difference is alot better than spending a couple hundred here and there on bolt ons that do next to nothing, trust me I know. My car has full bolt ons lol

You may get better results if you post this in the V6 section.
