lost key

I think my keys may have been stolen out of my car. I am replacing my clutch and I accidently left the keys in the ignition and I think they were stolen. Its 135 dollars for a new key because it has a anti-theft chip in it. Is there anyway around having to buy that key like replacing the ignition?

Do you still have a key for the car that works? If so you could buy a blank off of ebay for $10 or so have it cut and then I think on the 97 you can still program in another key yourself if you have one working key. Otherwise, if you do not have a key you can disable the pats or find someone who has the ngs tool (dealer or locksmith) to program it in.

If you have a tuner you can disable the pats.

If they stole them out of your car get on new locks bud. As towards a new key, if you have at least ONE chipped key, you can buy the chipped blank for around 45$ at the dealer and get a parts store to program and cut it for a couple bucks.
