245/40 on the front would work out well with no rubbing issues.

just watch your rear sizes...not sure about running a 315 on a wheel only 9" wide. as for the front i would go with either a 255/40 or like 97S281 had mentioned, a 245/40

I would shoot for a 245s up front and if you want that mean stance put on a inch wheel spacer on the rear.

The OEM wheels of a '97 Cobra were 8" wide. This means a 245 tire is the WIDEST poper fitment. If you are running a 275 tire on one, you have sloppy cornering, poor tire wear and, to some degree, an unsafe condition. If this were a 9" wheel, you would have a proper fit, but still somewhat sloppy cornering and probably still rub a bit

A 315 tire requires at least a 10.5" wheel

Be careful running spacers on either end of your ride. Although you will have clearance with OEM wheels, you may have issues with the OEM lug-bolts hitting the back of the wheel and one must periodically check to make sure the "hidden" lug-nuts are tight. Especially, for the first few thousand miles.
