Max Size Rims

Hey guys.. just a quick question.. what are the max size rims and tires I can put on the Stang? It has been lowered about 1.5" with Eibach lowering springs.

19" rear 18" front? Do I want to go with same size? what size tire? I like the lower profile look... but not paper thin..

thanks again

18's IMO are perfect on the new edge body style. i would do some 18x9's on the front and 18x10's on the back. 255's for the front and a 295 for the back. i dont have any clearance issues and i'm really lowww. h&r ss/no iso's

ViB.... it is the overall diameter of the TIRE, that determines the size of wheel that will fit The larger the wheel, the thinner the tire, to a point. The OEM tire diameter is 25.6" on your car. This means:

245/45/17"
245/40/18"
245/35/19"
245/30/20"
245/25/21"
245/20/22"
245/15/23"
245/10/24"
245/05/25"
245/00/26" just riding in the rim!

If you want to retain proper clearance, this is how it works. Now, there are LOTS of other issues that come into play, such as width of wheel, the off-set and such. So your berst bet is to hit up American Muscle and some other sites to look up what works. If you see something you are not sure, come back in and ask

Jazzer welcomes ViB to MM's

I could shove 19's under my car and I was really close to doing so untill I got my 18" fr500's.

18's are whats known in the mustang community for "best fit"

IMO on a New Edge:
17's have opportunity for growth.
18's are just right.
19's are pushing it (choose your 19 wisely).
and 20's are really pushing it (really choose your 20's wisely.

There. I think I said it in a nice and non-offensive way as to not dish out any hate.

Just pickin' on ya a bit

To each his/her own, but I like a VERY responsive turn-in, so the thinner the better

Jazzer... runnin' paper thin

Also unfortunately paper thin doesn't work with these new England roads

So long as the wheel is +30mm off-set (+/- 5mm) and the overall tire diameter is near 25.7", you will be fine with them

This means you could run that same tire you currently have, but in a 25 series. I just peeped Tire Rack and cannot see any tire with that size. You will need to shop around a bit, but just keep an eye on the specs page for OVERALL DIAMETER of the tire you want. This needs to be 25.6" (+/- 1/2") or so, to retain clearance.

Ive got 17X9 and 17x10.50 on mine. I put them on my buddy's cobra because he wanted to see if they would fit before he bought new rims and tires. his 95 cobra was dropped 2 inches and the only thing that caused it not to fit was the exhaust hanger... the pipe cleared fine but the hanger hit the rim. Simple fix if you know how to weld.
