ok well yesterday I just had to show off to a couple of chicks and went to lay some rubber down and as i lifted the clutch i put it back down because it didnt seem it was engauged so in the way home i smelled buring anifreez. as i got home i lifted the hood and there was a lil cloud of smoke. what could of happend?????? water pump??????

hose gone bad? let it cool off and then inspect it for leaks.

its not leaking anywhere thats why i think its somthing worse that will piss me off bad because i dont have any $$$$ to fix the dang thing.

Is your clutch slipping badly? It would smell like burnt asbestos and could smoke alot as well. If you had an antifreeze leak, you would be able to see it everywhere. Good luck and let us know what the problem was.

does asbestos smell kinda like burning anitfreez? and would the smoke come from the engine bay? and if it is a blown head gasket would it leak antifreez? thanks!

It smells BAD, real bad, but if it were your clutch burning it would smoke from the shifter area, hehe at least that's where mine did.

Blown headgasket you will get coolant in your oil, does the oil on the dipstick look milky? That's usually a headgasket.

I'm no expert here, just going off of past experiences with my cars.

Good luck finding the issue, I'm leaning towards the clutch.

well i took it to the shop and they said it it was the clutch its not slipping anymore. and when i drove it today the smell came back and i called him and he said i could of damaged the clutch to where it slips a lot. and not to drive it intill i get a new clutch...wich sucks because iam poor right now...lol and if it was a head gasket wouldt the engine overheatand make noise? thaks for the help.

If you drove it home after and you drove it to a shop after and back home..... youre headgaskets arent bad. If you had a bad head gasket, you would either be leaking oil, or coolant into a combustion chamber. Giving you one hell of a smoke show when youre driving... ALL THE TIME. Probably swrewed up youre clutch. It happens.

My buddy had DR's on his stang and was trying to show off..... tried doing a burnout and relized his foot wasnt all the way off the clutch pedal.... smoke everywhere and it made me gag. It was so terrible. Needless to say he still drives it. haha. Same boat as you.... not enough cash right now.

lol thanks you guys! any recomdations on what kind of clutch i should get that might last longer because last time i had gotten what was said to be a king cobra without the name on it from valeo to make it cheaper (ebay) lol and it didnt last so long.

I say F*** king cobra clutches. I didn have good luck with mine. I bought a stage one spec. Im just waiting to hear back from anyone if the TOB is any good with the kit. I just bought upper and lower control arms, catback and clutch. Waiting on the catback and its all going in.

yea thats what i was just looking at on mustangtuning.com the stage 1 spec is $199.99 plus I was looking at a spec aluinum flywheel. wich I wanted anyway. so i should have all my $$$$ to fix my car in about 3-4 weeks since i just got a new job today. yay money! lol
