1/2 PI Swap Guys
What kind of times are yall running at the track? And have any of yall dynoed the after with it? Also, how much did you spend on it? And do you feel it was worth it doing only half? Why did you only do half? Thanks

Gonna cost allot more for the 10hp gain. i personally don't find them worth it over the intake and cams. but if you are up to the work its cool to do .

So is it true that the heads only yield around 10-15 extra hp. I have been reading about it and have not found any solid proof. I have seen full pi swaps pull out low 14s high 13s. I want to see what your car runs since you got the kinks worked out. Would actualy like to have a friendly run one night to see how much more your parts helped over my k&n and exhaust. That way I can truly make a decision

Just got done with the PI intake swap yesterday and got into it some today. I can tell you I don't need to spend the money on dyno yet to know it's a worthy mod. I spent the last month researching this because of the slight gasket mismatch and mine is my dd. I bought my 98gt used with 3.73 gears, jlt 4" cai and flowmaster catback with stock hpipe. I think it already had some cams because the npi heads and intake were replaced or and worked and it's got a nice lopey idle. The intake it had was the new npi with alum crossover and looked just like a PI with the blue Oring plenum gasket already installed. It also has Oring gaskets chaneled in the plastic throughout all intake ports coolant ports. It's a nice piece they produced after the settlement and I was not gungho to replace it with the PI, but so far I can say it's a definite nice SOTP improvement. I need a catted HPipe now, which is gonna be hard to find for a decent price but I can wait, or I have material to get it made up if price is right.
Today I started off easy in 1st, shifted to 2nd gear and took it up to 5200rpm and she broke loose early without stabbing it that hard, so it never acted like that before but I am not beating on this car because the motor is very solid and it's generally in great shape. I got the "BlueOvalChips" PI swap kit and followed his install instructions where he uses modified bolts for temp mounting studs to align the intake on the gasket so it doesn't move or slide, so I hope it lasts, so far so good. Didn't bother with pics because there are tons already and quite frankly I was so involved and up against the clock in my condo parkinglot that I just got it done 2hrs before the winter blast of air came in yesterday.. (Whew) Hope this helps some. I will post pics of the newold npi intake which is for sale and my newold 98gt to put in my avitar to replace my 06 gt which was sold awhile back.

My cams and intake felt a big difference . but being a 4r70w i need all the tuning i can get and Jmod ect. Heads are not totaly worth it but do make good CHP. cams and intake made a big difference in how long the car pulls. But my car is still much slower than it should be. its all in the tune now. This motor setup is just my tuning ginny pig until im done the other engine. I will need all the tuning in the world to make that work right lol. So im learning now to prepare for it. And workign on the chassis and body for autox purposes more so than the 1320 .

I have the 5spd. You had big kinks for the time you ran. Must have been real bad when you ran tylers old gt. i wan to see you get it all worked out and see what time you can pull.

Yeah that night at the track my car was even driving like ass lol . i had a bad crank sesnor and it was super humid. Had rev limiter issues with the trans and could not go faster than 80 mph in 3rd cause it forced overrive at that speed. On top that i had bad struts , i had my rebound in the back set wrong and i only had 3 hours of sleep . Lol . i had quite a few issues.

I did the Pi Cam swap last night and just from driving it around normally I can tell a difference. I havent beaten on it at all but I can already tell that it drives much smoother and pulls better after 2k. Still need to find an Intake Manifold for a decent price tho.

id like to hear some debate over pi cam/intake swap vs. full pi swap...and why would anyone rather want the pi motor over the swap the same parts with a bump in comprssion...a pi swapped npi has to be better then a pi motor (for NA purposes)
