i'm getting ready to do the rear suspension on my 97 cobra and i have heard alot of good things about baseline suspension. i'm setting the car up for drag racing and want it to hook. anyone use this suspension and what parts work best. i'm using a coilover setup so i need help with spring rate and shocks. open to all suggestions about the best company to use.[IMG][/IMG]

I have never heard of them. Are you still going to street drive the car or is it going to be strictly a track car?

Maximum Motorsports can be your one-stop-shop for suspension. Americanmuscle.com has alot of good deals on killer suspension components too.

Kevin at Baseline is the man!

I have the heavy duty Prolaunch kit. Very top notch stuff...

I didnt opt for the coil over route, but sense you have, you can use one of his lower control arms. Setting up the geometery does depend on your springs. What is the weight of your car?

Whos coil over setup did you use?

i don't have the coilover setup yet but i'm looking for opinions. i have just heard that coilovers are the best for drag racing. what shocks should i use? i was told strange shocks and springs are the best.

Depending on what the weight of you car is I can recommend spring rates for you. But strange shocks do quite well, it's what I have under my car.

if your keeping the stock style rear suspension, you can get just as good of results with coil over springs in the stock location. The factory location of the shocks isnt the best design to get the full benefit of COs for drag. Just experiences I have had. As far as baseline, I run there relocated uppers and love the difference they made.

start with tires. Almost any suspension setup will hook like crazy with the right tires. I would refrain from revamping your rear suspension especially for a relocated solid heim end suspension without seeing how your car performs with a conventional setup. Relocated suspension is pretty much a waste of money for 99% of mustangs. This is coming from someone who has run relocated uppers, lowers, and stock location control arm setups with every type of bushing on the market. I currently run team z uppers which are basically the same as baseline but a lot stronger and made with better materials.

I will disagree with the stronger statement... TeamZ and Baseline both use different angles on the relocated uppers. Both work great, but Baseline was the orginator, and Kevin is really helpful. Dave Zimmerman is also extremely helpful, but he now has the whole shop to deal with, and isnt as focused on a item as Kevin. TeamZ makes great products.

The most useful part about a relocated upper and solid bushings is the consistancy the suspension ends up having.

I highly doubt if anyone on this site even knows about s&w racecars. We have felt with s&w products at the shop and are good products. Most of our stuff is fabricated in house

S&W race cars are great as is quartermax.

A lot of there stuff isn't specifically built for a chassis and is universal. Some stuff is built perfect though.
