Contemplating A Trade Looking For Advice

hey guys, so ive been looking around to trade my 96 gt for something different just to switch it up. Found a guy with a 98 auto z28 ls1 maro he said he would trade but i cant help but feel that i might be cheating myself.

my car has

longtubes
sct chip tuned
bbk 78mm
cai
pi heads + new top end gaskets
new rad/water pump and hoses
x pipe
cdc side exit exhaust
hawk pads new rotors
all fluids fresh and all tune up gear is new
car has 138k on it

if you wanna see a picture search my thread "my 96 all washed up" in the pictures section.

but im sure a few of you have owned ls1 camaros this one is auto and stock with a shift kit and slp cold air. Am i gonna have trade remorse or what?
my car is done right and is solid without a doubt.

how long do those ls1s seem to last? ill just assume it was beat on but he says everything is stock and clean.

I wouldn't do it. You'll regret it, on a side note the z28 is Prolly faster tho

stock= no
I would keep your car cause you have so much work into it. and autos are not as fun as a manual imo
And with you just have done all that work like the hoses and pads and fluids, you know its good to go and is going to last for a while longer. this dudes camaro could be ready to blow up

Yeah i figured it would be the general consensus to keep it. I just cant help but think about how much fun it might be to build a 400+ hp na ls1 car.

Also the dude happens to have a 1995 gt with 306 tfs heads and all the goodies, sounds tempting im not sure why i got an itch for something new

Save some money, get an old foxbody and build the shit out of it. This guy near me has a '91 with a built 347 stroker, NOBODY in this city can touch his car. The things a beast! Remeber though, everything you add to your engine you have to balance out with the rest of the car. You cant have a 400hp ls1 running on a stock read end.

Man if you wanna do then do it experience it... Was fun for me I had 2 WS6's and 2 Z28's fun to build easy to make power but the rear ends are the weak point mine never blew on all four of my F-bodies and I was close to 400 on both WS6's... Seen a bunch of my friends f-bodies rear ends blow up more than once... In the end its all up to you and if you can live with parting ways with your stang I still regret giving up my 98 5 years ago but still had fun with all my other cars....

Totally up to you man. I think you have more work into your car than he does but on the flip side you can make power alot cheaper with his setup than your npi motor.

a friend of mine has a 99 with an ls6 swaped full exhaust a stage 4 auto trans and is on his 3rd set of rear end gears yes his car is fast it takes a 500+ mustang to beat him however rearends are not good in these cars so you will want to swap it out and you will break the trans yes parts are cheap but is suck to work on just a little food for thought

Yea im just wondering if i would be displeased, i have TONS of work into my car to make sure its fast and reliable (not cheap)

Ill prolly just keep it and slap an on3 turbo on it or something.... although that damn ls1 is tempting. I Guess if i put the 2kish i would spend making the z28 stupid fast i could make my 2v faster

Im not biased here
if you only care for power go for the camaro, but your mustang has your own touch to it.
Wait a month and if the offers still up and u still want change go for it.
