96 Saleen S281 Help!
Hey MM! I just got a 96 s281 non super charged. I want to know what changes I can make to my car that will help my performance! Best gear ratio, heads, cam, intake setups, should I keep the same exhaust, cats on or off, stuff like that. I know a few things but not as much as I would like to. I just want some help with stuff like that, different answers would be great! Just a 19 year old trying to have some fun. Thanks!

It should already have a set of 3.55's in the rear and the catback is a nice borla setup. If there isn't anything wrong with the catback I would keep the one you have. I would look at swapping the stock midpipe for an off road H or X pipe if you want it to be louder. The H will be quiter than the X. Whatever you do keep the tips, they are unique to the 94-98 Saleens.
You can start with full length subframes to help the chassis. You will be amazed at the difference they make. I would recommend some new lower control arms in the rear to get more powewr to the ground. You may very well need some caster camber plates as well to get your alignment right, I needed them on mine and my wife needed them on her 97 Speedster as well. The x2 ball joints and bumpsteer kit help the front suspension as well. Ultimately I am going to go with a Maximum Motorsports tubular K memeber and coil overs on my Front and either Cobra IRS or MM 3 link set up in the rear. For the engine You can swap in a P.I. setup or look for something else. I have the modular 4.6 svo heads in mine with custom gring cams and a svo blower on top putting out 6lbs of boost. I am making 432 crank/375 rwhp with the setup. I also have a forged out shortblock with a .020+ bore as well and set up the internals for 9:1 compression ratio. Future plans include using the svo intake instead of thge svo blower and either putting in a turbo setup or a centri for 14lbs of boost.
