Questions about lowering

So I'm looking at buying a set of lowering springs, do I need caster camber plates for springs like the ford "b" springs? Anything else I need to know? These would be getting paired with koni double adjustable shocks and struts if that means anything.

i would get caster camber plates to help with the alignment. i have eibach sportlines with caster camber plates and still cant come even close to within spec on my caster or camber (and thats with the plates in the most postive position it can be.)

i had those springs at one time...i didnt run anything other than those and shocks/struts (KYB GR2's) it DID wear the tires on the insides but i never took it for an alignment. i would go ahead and get the CC plates just to make sure you can get it back in spec (or at least close) the steeda X2 balljoints are another thing i'm looking at doing soon along with a bump-steer kit, especially now that i've got H&R SS's with no iso's.

IMO B springs don't really lower it enough to need c/c plates. It should be able to be aligned it within specs without them.

I just ordered the C class springs last night. I went with that because its a linear spring instead of progressive. From what ive been told you will not need CC plates for it.

CC plates are not "needed" but are a good idea, even if you DON'T lower the car

They allow much more adjustablilty for all things alignment, but most importantly, caster. Wider wheels like more caster and if you want to remove the camber one gets from lowering the car, they will allow one to get into OEM specs, where you will have trouble doing so on a moddest drop without them.

Ok so I passed up the b springs because I feel as though for the price I may as well go new or keep looking. What springs do you guys recommend without going so low I'm unable to get in driveways.

I am a big fan of Votglands. Their ride qaulity is the same as stock and the stance is perfection IMO.

Jazzer
Great info, I agree 100% with this.

I would (and have) CC Plates on every 79-04 I have owned/own....regardless of ride height.
