What is your Idle set up at?

I feel like my idle is not the same after I fixed a leak in my intake. For someone reason i feel like its my TPS, but i dont know. What is the usual idle for a gt stang? Got a BBK o/r X Pipe, running on stock muffulers and think it sounds shitty. anyideas if its the brand of X Pipe making it sound like that? or what should i consider adding? maybe cause its automatic?

Could be IAC. Also for exhaust I would get mufflers. Watch vids on youtube and see what you like.

yes thats normal, it idles that high when you first start it up because its the o2s warming up so its running in a set fuel trim til they warm up then the ecu or pcm starts to take readings from them and it will start to idle down. your idle is fine and when you put in gear being an auto it should drop close to 500 til you press the peddle of coarse. as far as your exhuast goes. your stock mufflers is whats making it sound like crap. in my opinion theres no better muffler than a flowmaster but everyone.likes diffrent stuff. go to youtube and look at videos of people reving their cars up with diffrent mufflers but the videos dont do most of those systems justice though. slp, bassani, borla, flowmaster, mac exhuast are really popular with stangs. but if you want awsome sound like I said, go with some long tubes with the x or h pipe and some flowmasters. you wont be dissappointed, thats what I have on my 98 and its an automtic . hope this helps.

Magnaflows are really mellow, Flowmasters are really loud and more old school sound orientated. IMO that is.

Im currently running a set of dynomax's and they're quiet until 2k rpm, and if you open her up you can really hear it ahaha. It has a nice deep throaty sound to it.
