Almost successful DIY NPI porting
I have recently did a porting job on a set of npi heads for my car. I have just picked them up from the shop from getting it flowed. I have a little more work to do but I am over all satisfied with my first test. Some of the numbers fell off mainly on the exhaust but all better than a stock npi head (flow charts compaired to came from the max performance modular book i bought from barnes and noble). Here they are...
intake Exhaust .050 31.8 24.2 .100 48.6 45.9 .150 67.9 58.6 .200 87.1 82.8 .250 109.2 99.1 .300 127.6 115.1 .350 147 117.5 .400 155.4 116.2 .450 168.2 118.5 .500 178.6 118.9 .550 190.2 118.7 .600 197.5 119.2 I believe that I need to put the grooves back on the exhaust side right before the header would be connecting to the head, with the numbers rising till the end leads me to believe that I may have lost velocity. So a little more work I may be able to see even better numbers. Tell me what you think. Now I am trying to find a set of cams with .550 lift with a 205/200 duration. Thanks everyone

I talked to my machine guy. I have now took the valve guide humps down and my exhaust side I had created a peak in the curve. All middle #s on intake side came up and exhast are barely below pi now. I am going to do a 3 angle and call it a day

Nice work. Good to see someone doing the NPI heads some justice and not just junking them for the PI swap.
