Lowering Springs Fitting Question!!!!

I've noticed that several places on ebay are selling lowering springs that fit 79-04 stangs, others sell them for 94+. Say there were some springs that were on a fox car... would they fit my 96 COBRA?

Or are they the same "fit" but different spring rates... I'm guessin that it's the same for convertables.

Thanks Guys!!!!!!!!

I know that when you look them up from summit racing they list two different part numbers for coupes and convertables. The springs may be interchangable from earlier years but you need different sets for convertables apparently.

convertibles weigh more thats the differance there. not to say you cant interchange between the coupe and the vert. if you put coupe springs under a vert it might be a lower and harsher ride. I believe the vert has a stiffer spring .
it does make a differance whether its a v6 or v8. tire rack sent me v6 vert springs when i ordered mine and i have a v8. i didnt realize they were the wrong springs until i had installed them, it sat LOW, looked good but rode like shit, i had to use them though until they sent me the v8 vert springs, then i sent the v6 springs back.
