my 4v engine 6 bolt main
Ok this is my noob question of the day. I have the 4v teksid motor. they say 6 bolt mains but what exactly is meant by this. Is it the number of bolts on the crank caps ?

Nah I believe that means 6 bolts for the flywheel and 8 bolt flywheels like newer cobras and GT's. Not sure exactly what years the changes were made though. But SN95's I believe are all 6 Bolt.

thanks but i found the answer. It is the 6 bolts that cap down the crank shaft. It is not the shaft bolts itself. I went ahead and reviewed everything. But im about to remove the pistons and stuff and work the block .

There are 6 main cap bolts on the skirted relapses blocks. Crank if cobra is 8 bolt or mark cast crank is 6 bolt

only thing i need is the cobra intake and stock exhaust headers. Not going to go with aftermarkets. Everything else is being custom spec down to the tranny. Im on the B heads of course. And im going to be spitting about 7500 rpm if things go right. Getting lined up atm. Things are looking good
Which is why i have had good reason to putting cash into the body of the car itself. (rear ect) to support upcoming powuz haha.

nahh custom grinds and rpm to take advantage of the low gears as much as possible. and im getting a good deal
