weird noise?

Ok here we go i got to noises that that are driving me nuts.

the first is coming from what sounds like the rear end. i think it may be the axles but im not sure. it sounds like a rubbing niose and is only heard when im driving. got any ideas?

the second is a very high pitch sound coming from the front and its not a belt sqeek but like a rattling like a loose washer on a bolt rattling very fast. it does it when im stopped and in motion and in evey gear but the sound isnt heard all the time. can you help?

got to have the car running smooth for this weekend taking it to the track with family. should be getting pictures soon.

p.s. any one from ohio and if so are you close to pataskala or columbus?

thanks for your help on previous topics.

I know this sounds crazy , but check your u-joints. I had a similar sound and found my u-joints were bad. The sounds went away when I installed the new u-joints.

my car makes a noise like that, but not when i turn it off. My throw out bearing on my clutch is shot. My clutch still has a little bit of ware on her and i only drive about 100 miles a week if im lucky, so I'm trying to hold out on replacing it otherwise it's leave me in the poor house for a few weeks. I need money to make money so my baby has to suffer a little while longer. My noise goes away after the cars all warmed up, but maybe yours is officially shot to $h!t. I know that during the winter the bearing used to scream when i started her up. The noise is constant in all the gears though, until she's warmed up. Hows does your clutch feel, she a little hi, i know mine sure as hell is, it's like driving my buddies hyundai.

I just through that out of left field because my mechanic told me the noise was fine and because it went away after warm up it wasn't a huge issue, most likely a fuel infector tick. Then after that i was with some mustang enthusiests trying to find wear my intake manifold was leaking from, and as soon as we started the car one said to me, "your clutch shot? cause your throwout bearing needs to be replaced."

I called my mechanic up and reamed him a new one, He was the one first pointed out the high clutch, but said that it was fine, just the car. I had been wanting to replace the clutch since day one but was told not to cause it still caught. Apperently my mechanic doesn't believe in fixing something until it's 100 percent broke. Now i rely only on people who own mustangs to tell me whats wrong. I still use him because he does know what he's doing, just needs to be told what he has to do. He's like a really good surgeon who can't read. LOL.

Just because your car functions when something is making noise, doesn't mean thats its just the age of the car. Don't bring your car to the track and run her, especailly with noises coming from your rearend. U could have a leaky seal thats not leaking anymore because theres only enough fluid to keep things moving, but not come out the leak. One hard launch and bye bye rear end.
