Getting an upgrade but not sure what to get

Hey guys. I got a question. I have a 96 gt, that all is done to the engine is a cold air intake and some exhaust work. I was wondering what would be the best mod to buy. I want to buy a mod that is going to get me the most performance. I was thinking maybe a chip? or a bigger throttle body but i dunno. Please help

get some 4:10's and/or a short shifter! although with gears you may go over your budget by the time you pay for installation.

+1 one on the 4.10s. Agreed that it may run over $400 after all is said and done. Look to get a short shifter (MGW is great) afterwards, it will make driving much more enjoyable.

Definitely gears, splurge the extra couple of bucks to do them if they run over the price your looking at. They pack such a difference and make the car way more fun.

That or headers if you want to install them yourself.

how much different does the car feel when you put in the gears? and what do they exactly affect?

They affect fuel economy.

Heh, not really. They really play a part in how the car pulls out of the hole. Your first gear with a 4.10 is going to be strong and short, a.k.a. a ton of fun. Your car will no longer wind first to 130mph before needing second.
