Centi or Twin-Screw?

what would be better, a centrifugal s/c let's say a Vortech or a Twin-Screw s/c from Kenne Bell?

make it a fast daily driver but take it around on nights and have a fun time racing. over a long period of time i wanted to get the PI swap, full bolt-ons, suspension, and a s/c. just not sure which one to get. i've heard things about both but can't decide. any suggestions?

the roots type(kb)
make instant boost which is great for street racing

the centrifugal makes more power over time.

it's up to you man.

hint... nitrous takes care of boost lag.

considering this is your goal, i would go ahead and start with suspension or the blower (preferably kennebell, considering you want a fast daily for the streets, it will be perfect, but any centri will work to) dont bother with any boltons until afterwards, then you can start with the exhaust and throttle body and whatnot... reason being is some boltons are worthless on boosted applications, so y bother purchasing befor the blower...

just my 2 cents... and im a centri guy at heart, i just cant see my self spending 6k for 150 hp when i can get it for 4k...

no, because with the right blower, you can max out ur motor b4 the swap, y bother with the head swap and a blower if u cant us the blower anyway... also the headswap causes more compression which isnt the best for a street car and a blower... and for a few extra bux more then the headswap, u can pick up a used blower... like i said just my 2cents, u cant go wrong when you go blown...

go with the roots type blower since it give you instant power.you definitely should do your suspension so you can plant the power.
you could get some non-PI heads that will outflow stock pi heads
and wont increase your CR ,I think Livernois has em

I think for your aplication of DD and wanting to race on the street, a KB will work better for you! I also say dont do any head work except maybe some cams. The reason for this is because if you do head work and then the blower you will have your bottom end to worry about staying together. If it were my car, I would get the KB, then save up for a forged rotating assembly, and then do the new internals and heads at the same time!

Yeah it does depend on the type of blower you use, but if you go with a centri I would definatly do the PI intake!! I know if I ever buy another NPI car the first mod will be the PI intake and cams! lol I love how mine pulls up top!

I agree with nes on this one! You need to chose a blower that will fit your best needs! And in my case when and if I supercharge I will be going with a centri!

Pretty much the only thing you will need if you go the KB route is exhaust. The KB kit, if you get the CAI, MAF, and TB will replace all of your stock intake all the way to the heads.

And not to be an @sshole or anything, but something has been buggin me. A KB is not a roots style blower, it is a twin screw. Both roots and twin screw are positive displacement blowers, but the twin screw is more efficient and has less boost drop off than the roots.

Just wanted to clear that up.

And if you have any questions about the KB I can answer a good deal about install and other similar questions.
