Is it safe to bypass my bad heater core in the summer?

id leave it, if your car overheats in the summer, your suppose to turn the heat on right away to save your engine

my heater core was replaced last october and about a month ago it went again and i got real pissed off...not willing to spend the money to get it fixed right now i bypassed it and ive had no problems so far id say bypass it

im saying if your riding down the road at around 50 and opening your hood isnt plausable

If the heater core is leaking, he is gonna loose coolant so therefore its gonna over heat. Turning the heater on wont help much there. But otherwise if it werent leaking, what you mentioned does work.

So bypass the heatercore. you wont overheat as long as your fluids are full and you fan is functioning properly.

Your right. I assumed automatically that it is leaking, since thats the only reason I know of, that would make you want to bypass the HC.

So ocsailor, whats the reason you ask this?
