BBK shorties tuned length help

I just installed my new headers and after it took me three days of raising and lowering my motor to get them in they are finally working but but my steering shaft (on drivers side lower by the header) hits the header when the engine is started. Is this a big deal and is there any way I can raise my motor like maybe a quarter inch or so. they sound great can't tell if I have an exhaust leak or if it just the new sound of the headers I am not used to.

Double check the alignment of the engine in the k member, it may be sitting lower on the drivers side than the passenger. Shimming the engine is not a good idea even a 1/4 of a inch can cause a driveshaft angle inversion that could cause premature failure of the u joint (or worse).

i recently got equal length bbk's and you know how long i looked at those instructions?

i dont think i even unfolded them.

i know they mention something about bypassing a hose and lifting the motor...

anyways i took my intake out, unplugged my sparks, and old headers came out fine, new headers went in fine. no motor movement. make sure you put your motor back in straight.

i didnt have that problem when i did mine, the only thing i had to do was move a a/c line a little higher cause it was too close.
