question bout moddin ur stang n dealer refusin to service it

So is it true, that your dealer can refuse to service your car if they find a performance upgrade or just some type of modding ????????? I read something about this in the mag muscle mustang n fast fords but didnt quite understand. Im askin cause i wanna put in an airt filter, clutch, better shifter, and lower it a lil, IF anyone has the time can you answer me with the best choice for everythin I listed ? and of course answer my main question.

this is a pretty heavily debated topic. In a nutshell, yes, they can refuse to warranty your car IF a mod caused a part failure. This is where it gets to be a problem, they MUST prove that the failure was actually caused by the modifications.

i don't see them voiding your warrenty for that, but also keep your stock parts besides the clutch and you can always throw it back on there if you need it serviced. alright for the choice of parts this is going to be my personal opinion on what i have and what i know works. For air filter i would get a JLT RAI, clutch would be a centerforce dual friction, shifter would pro-5.0, springs you can just go with eibach.

ive changed my mind on the jlt cia. i have a home depot down the road just like that guy does and his stuff doesnt seal well and the rubber fittings pop off randomly. clutch def go with centerforce or spec, shifter i love the mgw feel over any of the other shifters and eibach makes good shit.

just get an eibach sportlines. go to www.eibach.com and there is a deal where it shows you the difference between the different drops. the sportline is low but looks damn good!

4point6..... All the stuff you read about is for warranty reasons. Ford doesnt want to buy "joe shmoe" a new motor because he put a Kenne Bell on his 4.6 stock motor. Understand? They wont turn you away because you put a CAI on youre motor and lowered it. You have 77k miles and im sure youre warranty is long gone. If you have extended... its a waste of money anyways. They only replace certain parts.

I think some people confused what you were asking. Or maybe i did. haha.

Just service, you can go anywhere you would like. Mods or not. Unless its warranty stuff. And FORD does know all the mods people put on their cars and infact they have a bulliten on their PTS website that shows pictures of every mod Mustang guys usually put on their cars. haha.

actually i just got this car, i wish i had gotten it new but no so i doubt my warranty is over lol, but its cool if u misunderstood. so then the jlt rai over the cia is best ? i was lookin at the sportlines from eibach, what about the prokit im kinda leanin more towards that since it says it will lower it 1" to 1.5" i doubt i will need anymore.

Yeah i knew what you were asking. Not sure if anyone else was. I read it as well in the mag. If youre talking about the same one. haha

I have the JLT fender cold air. I love it. Fits great and doesnt get hott like my last (BBK). I have a 2 inch drop in my pony.. and its useless for drag racing, no weight transfer. And i bottom out alot. So i would say 1-1.5 is perfect.

Good luck with it.
