of course a turbo would be better but they are about 2000 more than a supercharger, the thing is with your 98 with either power adder you will not make as much power as you should cause of the non-pi heads and intake. I would recommend getting that first cause you will prob make the same power as if you had a power adder on it just with the heads and intake.

turbo will make more power on the same boost setting but turbos are much more expensive. usually double the price of he original turbo kit and thats usually about what it will take to get it going. turbos are a whole lot harder to tune that a s/c so tak that into account when you go to have it tuned. +1 on the PI heads before you do any forced induction!

I'd say go with a turbo.. but for some reason I think they are harder on the motor? Just something thats stuck in my head. If I had to do everything over again, I'd go with a pro charger....

haha yeah... I know my post was kinda confusing.. I love turbos, but I'd just rather have a pro charger for my street car.

Superchargers are harder on the engines because of the force put on the snout of the crankshaft.

Yeah I know, I was meaning in my head turbos seem to be more hard on motors... thats just something that's stuck in my head.. Not something I would try to fight against... lol.. i know S/Cs are hard on the cranks

another thing to consider regarding what is "harder" on the motor is that becasue of the exhaust nature of the turbos and the 'crank powered' SC, the SC engine will be working harder for the same RWHP numbers as the T ...
this is related to what they said before about getting more HP on the same boost setting.

I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on this topic. I have the 06GT and I am getting ready to order the Saleen S/C kit. To produce just over 400 ponies at around 5 psi, that isnt bad and it will not kill my crank either. I just never found a turbo kit that I liked for the 06GT.

your right its bot gonna kill your crank. the saleen is a nice s/c. all were saying is hat the s/c has to work harder IE requiring horsepower to make hosrepower, where as the turbo uses the allready spent power to run it. your not gonna hurt your engine by running a s/c. i myself run a s/c and i love it but i plan on goin twin turbo in a year or two!!!!!!!!!!!
