Slip-Slidin Away!!

I put a cold air intake, shorty headers, an X-pipe, a King Cobra clutch, changed to 4:10 gears and put a short shifter on it. 2 1/2 inch Flowmaster (American Thunder) exhaust.

Thats what 4.10s will do for you! lol drop the tire pressure a bit and and heat them up more and launch at a lower RPM!

try some good aftermarket upper and lower control arms and a set of full lenght sub frame connectors.

that should do the trick

How low should I go with the pressure? I went down to 20psi. I could leave the line at 5 and I was all over the place. I can leave at 4 and still spin.

your going to continue to spin until you get some suspension mods under there...

there is no point in having a fast car if you can't get it to hook.

Well I leave the line at 2200-2400 and still spin with 2.73s in my car! lol and I would recommend more like 13-15 PSI in your MT!

I agree with that! Do you think the tire size is about right? 275/60/15's or should I try something else, and how low can you go on tire pressure? I do have some upper and lower control arms ordered. They should be here Fri. The next time I can get to the track is next weekend though.

Well that tire should be fine for you! and I know of guys running around 8-9 in there MT! What brand lower and upper contol arms did you buy? And you have to remember that racing at the track is a lot different than on the streets! My track always seems to be really slick!

What I am trying to do is stay in the factory stock class according to the NMRA rules. I can't run total slicks on my car. My MT's are the ET Street Radials. The contol arms are from Hotchis (stock repacement non-adj.)

you could still get the sub frame connectors..

that will help out... taking off your front sway bar will help too

I'm thinking about changing to a 275/50/17 tire. My car seems to react slower with the larger diameter tires than my 245/45/17 street tires. Is it a good idea to switch to a smaller diameter tire, and still use the MT Street drag radial?

Do you know if the sub frame connectors are allowed in that class?
