what Mods should i do

I have a 1997 Mustang Gt vert. I have only had it a couple of months and I am ready to start adding mods but I need some advice. I don’t want to mess with NOS or a 411 rear end because this is my daily driver. It has 18" Sport Max Racing wheels that came on it and the front end has been lowed 1.5" and the rear might have a 1/2" to a 1" but I am not sure. I have T-304 cat-back from Borla Exhaust and a crappy CAI. Something might have been done to the computer cause the RPM's jump up quicker than my buddy 1998 GT. I would like about 400-500 rwhp. So I need some feed back.

Mod I am thinking about but haven’t ordered yet!
-JLT CAI from americanmuscle.com
-Accufab T/B Plenum Combo from americanmuscle.com
-PI Intake Manifold from americanmuscle.com
-Heads (but dont know what kind) Feedback
-Cam (but dont know what kind) Feedback
-Headers (but dont know what kind) Feedback
-Clutch (but dont know what kind) Feedback

i was gonna jump on this but noticed something. U said the rpms jump quicker. Do u mean they go higher when accelerating or while sitting still?

every mod u suggested that u knew u wanted where great. if u plan on having the work done, and not do it urself, i would suggest contacting local speed shops and see what kind of results they've gotten with dif combinations of heads n cams.

i would say you already have some kind of a gear in the rear... but i would also say that you wont make the kind of power your looking for without forced induction. anyway i would start with a set of pi heads, cams, and intake, then headers, then sc. this combo has been proven to work for 400 hp time after time. and dont waste your money buying another cai if u will go blown in the future...

i can say this you can add all of those mods to that car and still wont be nowhere near 400-500rwhp those kind of numbers in our cars require way more money then their worth im talking full twin turbo or charger at least

After building a few mustangs, I would focus from the ground up. I always here the guys that start at the engine complain they can't beat cars with less done to them. A few minor bolt ons and a good suspension set up will be faster than a car that hooks.

Heads: If you going to buy them get them from a company such as, VT engines, Fox Lake racing, Modular performance or Modular Powerhouse. Do not look at flow numbers in CFM's, CFM's mean little compared to velocity.

Cams: If you want to be as fast as everyone else run a shelf grind. If you want to be faster, run a custom cam. Who ever you choose for heads will be able to suggest what works best with their product.

Headers: BBK and Hookers are good options

Clutch: I have always had good luck with Centerforce, Spec is another...

Hope some of that helps...
