spring question


I'M THINKING ABOUT HCANGING THE SPRING ON MY 98 GT. I WAS LOOKING AT THE FPPR THE B AND THE C, ONE HAS A 425LBS RATING THE OTHER HAS 600LBS RATING. CAN ANYONE THEY ME WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT ON THE LBS RATING

The higher the spring rate, the stiffer the spring. a 425 spring rate means that for every 425 pounds of pressure the spring will compress one inch. A stock is around 450, with spring rates going as high as 600 for the Cobra / Mach1 / Bullitt Mustangs.
