there is no top speed limiter on a 98 stang but when u hit 125 it acts like its shuting down

There is a speed limiter! If you had 16 inch wheels from the factory it should shut down at 116 MPH

it doesnt shut down at 117 my buddies monte carlo shuts down at 117 i could verly see his headlights when we raced i was still gaining tell i hit 125 thats what the speedo said its a little off i was going a little faster since i put bigger tire on back

i got a 96 gt with 17s and ive had it to 140mph... not exactly sure where it tops but no limiter in it.....should be able to change sensors to get rid of that limter though...anyone know how fast these cars can go?

ok well wow im just on the edge then, i might have to test the limiter then lol... well i guess a tuner can get rid of that but no real need to go much faster then that, thanks matt

And if you have put different rubber on the car with a larger profile, you can get faster than the limiter!

I never had that problem on stock or aftermarket rims and I've topped my car out. I was under the immpression that 98's don't have limiters...

its a 8.8 with 2.73 or 3.27 gears i think
