it could be, I got my PI heads off a 2003 with 20k miles for $300, PI intakes brand new are $200, I got comp cams and valve springs i think for them both was around $400, but i dont remember and I dont have the rest of the stuff yet, but i caint imagin it costing all that much. Keep in mind i got a hell of a deal for those heads. i have seen them go for as much as $800 a pair. You just have to shop around and ya i think you can find it cheaper, but you know you always pay for convinence.

Parkway Performance has a store on Ebay and they have an actual race shop that sells a complete kit for like $1500 shipped. It's not bad. I chose to piece mine together becuase I wanted to get some different things, like an after market manifold and stuff like that. Here is a post a bunch of us kind of chipped in on to make a complete list of what you should need to do the swap. We through some extra stuff in there of things that help and suggestions too. Another good place to get stuff from is ModularDepot.com.....Talk to Randy, he's a good guy and will get you whatever you need.

sean hyland has an expensive kit as well
I pieced mine together as well. One thing to look out for is the romeo vs. windsor heads. for our motors romeo is what you want, but windsor will work. Windsor has more bolts, i believe 14 if i remember correctly, and was used on the 99-00 models, while romeo has 11 and was used 01-04. (My years could be wrong, someone please correct me if i am wrong) If you did go windsor, you need to make sure you have the valve covers as well, and I remember something about the windsor cam gears being push ons or something, that made them a little different from the romeos... Any one wana chime in on that? either way goodluck if you plan on doing the swap

the press on cam gears are not a big deal, and if you are going aftermarket you just need to use the old gears off of your NPI cams!

Yeah the Windsor (99-00) heads are 14 bolts. Def. go Romeo (01-04). ALOT easier to find stuff for. Windsor has press on cam gears and Romeo have a bolt. IMO if something has a bolt going through it, then I trust it more. Your best bet bet is to piece together your own set. Just make sure you do you research and you have everything you need. Almost every instance that I have read, when people do this swap, there is something they overlooked. Like a gasket or an O-ring or something else. But it will be cheaper to piece together your own kit than to buy a complete one.
And that's a good deal for those cams and manifold!
