PI intake and cams

Hey guys, Have any of you done a PI cam swap yet? If so, can you give me any idea as to how much power I can expect to gain from it. I'm planning on doing a PI intake swap as well. My sorry intake finally broke so its time to upgrade. Also, anyone know of someone who may have an intake and/or cams for sale at a reasonable price?

Well, I've got 91 and some change on mine. Would I have to change the timing at all due to the PI cams?

Not really change the timing, the factory gears are poor quality off by 3* to 6* (*= degrees) up to a total of 9* from bank to bank. If you really plan to degree the cams I can get you the cam card and plenty of pointers on how to perform it correctly. I have done a ton of these, it is not hard just takes patients and time or some beer...LOL

Yeah that would be great. I am getting anxious as hell about getting this swap done. I just want to see how much of a difference this will make. I had an 02 GT conv. and I would love it if I could be close to that same power range.

You will be close, the npi heads get a bad rap, although they are not as bad as most think. N/A you can be with'in 5-15 rwhp of a 99+ stang.

When a company grinds a cam they take measurements of the timing events and at the points they occur. They ship a slip that shows the events, opening and closing points in degrees, Intake and exhaust lobe seperations and such. Without a cam card it is tough to check the precision of the machine work of the cams, one little booboo on the machine work can cost a engine.....

It is in the intake lobe centerline, I advanced them 3* over what the factory card showed. Crower suggested 2*, at 3* it was far more impressive all the way to 5800 rpm. It is not a huge secret, but it does help a ton.

This is probably a dumb question but...How do you change the degrees?? Do you adjust the cam gear? And you can do it stock parts right?
