Recalibrating a speedometer with new gears

After installing my new 410 gears I have found that I need to recalibrate my speedometer. Can you suggest a good tuner to do this at a cheap price. I have looked at the Diablo for $400. Is this a good tuner? Is the tuner fairly easy to use? I am not very car mechanical. I took the car to have the speedometer recalibrated but was told that their machine could not do it and I needed to get a tuner.

you need to buy a speedo gear..

they are like 10 dollars if that.

as for getting a tuner.. the Xcal and the snipers are both great tuners

Is the speedo gear easy to install? If I get a Speed cal will I still need a speedo gear?

In your opninon what is better the gear or tuner? I can use the Diablo tuner for other changes as well, correct? Money is not a real issue.

a gear is just a gear.. i really don't have an opinion on them because my car doesn't need one.
as far as a tuner goes both the SCT and the Sniper are great tuners.
I just prefer the SCt myself.

Again! A tuner will not correct a speedometer on the 96-98s! I have the speed cal and I think once I get to play with it more, I will have a dead on speedometer!

www.steeda.com carries any gear you need for your speedo. I paid $25 for mine after shipping. 99% of them are $10, but the 4.10 one is $15. UPS loves dragging you throw a Honda scrapyard, so they charge like $8 to ship the part.

speed cal is like a computer that you put in between the vss and the speedometer!

The speedo gear is easily changed when you take the one bolt out that holds the VSS on and just swap it!

I basically got it fixed! Its still not 100 percent accurate, I just havent had time to mess with it!

What turn out to make it work was seting the dipswitches backward! lol 1s are down and 0 are up!

tuners do not fix our speedometers you have to have the speedcal box like matt bought the gear will still have you 10 to the high side which will add those miles up faster.
