tranny fluid

i have 140k on mine and i dont think it has ever been changed im not sure but either way it cant hurt i have a 5 speed but a buddy was telling me to use auto tranny fluid i was wondering if anyone knew anything about this and any recomendations on fluid

hes correct. use automatic transfluid.

call Ford. Seems weird, but they'll tell ya to put auto tranny fluid in your manual tranny. Boggles the mind but I did as I was told. Royal Purple and/or Amsoil FTW in this instance.

where are the plugs my haynes manual doesnt show this and how much tranny fluid do i need to buy ?

approx 3 qts.
the plugs on the passenger side of the trans.
take the shifter off the top of the tranny. take the top check plug out. and fill thru the shifter hole until it runs out of the check plug
