Speedometer

I have a 97 GT with about 170k miles. The wires from the speed sensor melted together and shorted out. I was wondering if there was any way to run wire from the back of the dash to the speed sensor, and If anybody has a wiring diagram for that... I have already had the sensor replaced.

Looks like the hot wire is Grey/blk stripe and the negative is a pink/orange stripe , now that i look I think i got you the connectors for a 3.8, but oh well if you cant figure it out with the other schematic let me know.

Umm... I'm not sure how far the wires were melted. When me and my buddy took the tranny out to get it rebuilt we noticed it, but didn't check all the way to the cluster. Just to be sure, I can just run two wires from the cluster to the sensor?[/u]

Are you talking about the VSS ? You said you noticed it when messin with the tranny ? Where are the wires your talking about ?

You need to tell us how far back the wires got burned. If its at the connector you can buy a new one with pigtails .
