I'm not sure cause mine came with everything I needed for the swap... I think Ive read on here that it will work if you only put in one bolt but not 2.


I would ask Matt or Boomer or some of the other guys on here with "massive" mustang knowledge.

Honestly, mine just cracked. I hardly ever drive it hard unless Im in the mood to play or someone pushes me to run. With these sorry NPI intakes, they can crack just from starting it up too many times. Regular, conservative driving will do it as well. Now i would definately say running the piss out of it will increase the chances of it cracking

i just threw my old NPI out that wasnt cracked! I would have sent it to any one of you guys if I would have been thinkin!

I usually drive mine conservitively, but I usually find reasons to drive the hell out of it. Most of the time taking the long way home with open stretches of road, or hitting the track on weekends. I am not sure what caused it. it has 145k miles on it so i give it credit for its old age.

lol i had 122K on it and it wasnt cracked! I jsut did the swap because I got a PI intake really cheaply!

LOL mine cracked at like 70,xxx. I had a bunch of coolant in my plugs holes. It sucked. But I had a warranty on it. I say just do the silicon. No point in spending the extra cash when this way will work just fine.

ha i didnt even use that much rtv on mine and if put 16000 miles since the swap and they have been a hard 16g too. mine was cracked when i got it and changed to the dorman pi intake.

so what all else would i need to do the heads as well? Gaskets and arp studs? Im half way tempted to just go ahead and put the heads on as well.
how much more work and i looking at?

A lot of work! lol you have to take the timing components off to do the head swap! If you dont feel comfortable dont do it!
